The resistance is those unconscious beliefs and feelings that stop you from taking the steps you need to take to get you what you want.

All sorts of projects or goals can fall victim to the ‘resistance’:

  • taking up an exercise program
  • losing weight
  • going self employed
  • changing jobs
  • writing a book
  • taking a course
  • taking up meditation
  • learning to paint or play the guitar
  • etc

Most of this resistance is out of conscious awareness. Fortunately there are ways of uncovering the resistance and dealing with it using Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

Getting Out Of Your Own Way is a one day workshop for people who have things they want to do but find themselves struggling with their own resistance and want to help themselves.

This workshop is also for coaches, therapists and teachers who work with people who get in their own way.

This course is a step by step guide to getting out of your own way whatever the goal. Once you know the process you will be able to use it on any other projects in your life, which makes this course an excellent investment.

It is divided into four sections:

Is This The Right Goal For Me?

In the first section we check to see that the goal is your goal and the right goal for you. This is to avoid the situation where you “climb the ladder of success only to find it leaning against the wrong wall”.

We also explore what is important about this goal for you. Having good reasons for achieving the goal is very motivating so clarifying the value of what we are after will help when you need to take action after the blocks have been dealt with.

Uncovering The Resistance

Having clarified the goal or outcome, it is time to uncover the unconscious blocks that are getting in the way of achieving that goal using a simple step by step technique.

After identifying the overall blocks we will use another technique to unpack those blocks. To create a list of specific beliefs and bocks that can be neutralised using EFT.

Dissolving The Resistance

In this part of the workshop we will use EFT to neutralise each of the limiting beliefs and pieces of resistance that we uncovered in the first two parts of the workshop. We will use a variety of specially developed EFT routines to neutralise different types of blocks and beliefs.

Making a Plan

It’s all very well undoing the resistance but at some point you will need to do something to achieve your goals. In the last section of the workshop we will work on developing an outline plan of the steps needed to get you from where you are now to where you want to be.

Using specific tapping routines to take care of any overwhelm or confusion when you find out what is needed. Also we will take care of the insidious resistance caused by thinking you should do something.

Finally, we will wrap things up by deciding on and committing to the first step towards completion of your project.

This workshop will be accompanied with discussion, demonstrations of processes and full handouts.

Important: This workshop is about the “Law of Action” NOT the “Law of Attraction”. It is not about mysterious manifestation of outcomes, it is about getting into the right frame of mind be able to do the work that you need to do to get what you want.


There are only two requirements
1. You have a project or goal where you have been stuck
2. You have some experience of EFT, ideally having attended an EFT Level 1 or above.
