The Great North Run

I’ve had the great good luck (!) to get a place in the BUPA Great North Run on behalf of St Oswald’s Hospice. This will be the fourth time I’ve run in the world’s largest half-marathon and I’m looking to make it special by running it in under 2 hours and raising more than £1000 in sponsorship (you can tell where this is going, can’t you?).

I’ve no idea how I’m going to achieve either of these outcomes, my previous best time was 2:30 my last two efforts have been a pitiful 2:45, and I was last sponsored when I was at school. So I think this will make an interesting double challenge.

I’ll be using NLP, EFT and any other tricks I can find to make this happen and I’ll write it up as I go along. So if you’d like an in depth account of fatigue, determination and blisters, stay tuned.

Even if you don’t want to hear the gory details, please sponsor me, it’s a very worthwhile cause. You can sponsor me painlessly via my fundraising webpage. If you have friends who like to give money to masochists on a mission, please let them know, I’ll be happy to accept their help.

Thanks a million.
