In this mindful medicine article Jon Kabat-Zinn, the author of “Where Ever You Go There You Are” describes some of his work using meditation in the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre. It’s a brief overview of a very interesting approach to dealing with stress and pain management using simple meditation techniques. This work is more completely described in his book Full Catastrophe Living: How to Cope with Stress, Pain and Illness Using Mindfulness Meditation which I may attempt to review at some point, although that may take some time, it’s a big book.
