    Hello again

It’s been a while since I last posted, I’ve been kinda busy. My first EFT Level 1 Training in Newcastle took place on Saturday September 30th, the Great North Run the day afterwards.

The EFT course was great, almost full (17 people), I enjoyed myself and from the feedback I’ve had, I’m not the only one.

The next EFT Level 1 Course is on Saturday, Nov 4th at St Margaret’s Church Hall in Scotswood in Newcastle. I’m probably going to be running an EFT Level 1 course in Hexham in mid-November. If you’d like information about either of those courses please drop me a line, the earlier you book the less it costs.

The Great North Run was indeed great, unfortunately my performance wasn’t! In spite of running a good time in a 12 mile training run a few days before the race, I lost it about half way through, and had to jog-walks about a third of the course, so my time was about 2:45. I was even passed by a quadraplegic in a wheelchair twice! His coterie of friends running ahead, were kind enough to shout out “wheelchair coming through”, so I wasn’t mown down.

Oh, well, there’s always next year. I’d like to thank everyone who supported me with their wallets, so far I’ve received about £240 sponsorship with some still to come. It’s going to a good cause.

Apart from the run itself, the day is an extraordinary event. As the world’s largest half marathon there are a lot of people, and most of them are running for somebody else. Many of the big cancer charities are well supported and I often found myself behind runners with little ‘posters’ on their backs - “In memory of my Uncle Ian” or “For my brave mum who died six weeks ago”. I find such effort and generosity of spirit for others very effecting and I spent a lot of time before the race started using surreptitious EFT to manage the lump in my throat and the tears in my eyes.

So, if you are going through a phase where human nature doesn’t seem to be that good, I highly recommend attending the Great North Run to have it restored. I might even see you there next year. I’ll be the tall, wheezing guy, running in slow motion!
