There’s an interesting podcast in the Quirks & Quarks series from the Canadian Broadcasting Company on the subject of happiness. The program, which is rather quirky, covers the psychology and neuroscience of happiness.
The program works through the evolutionary reasons for happiness as an emotional guidance system. Things that will or won’t make you happy. The biology of stress and happiness and why happiness is very good for your health. Why a Buddhist monk has a happiness level far greater than the average man in the street and much more.
If you can cope with the off-beat humour it’s a very interesting overview of the scientific study of happiness. It might also give you some thoughts on how to be happier yourself.
